Created by Experienced Trainers

Little Helper Kennels was born out of the desire to assist disabled individuals in having a biddable, confident service dog to assist them. Founded by disabled individuals, LHK understands how important having a healthy, sound working dog is. This is why we’ve dedicated our program to producing an '“all-around” retriever who is able to succeed in multiple venues/activities.

The name Little Helper Kennels comes from Helping Howls’ lead trainer’s first service dog, Elfie. Her registered name was “My Little Helper” highlighting both her shorter stature along with her job as a working service dog. We believe every person in search of dog, whether as a pet or working dog, deserves to have the same bond with their canine partner.

Our dogs are bred & raised by certified dogs trainers with service work in mind. We use fear-free, LIMA methods on all dogs within our program. At LHK, be believe in producing handler-friendly dogs who do not require use of inherently aversive tools to flourish. For this reason, none of our program’s breeding dogs have been trained with inherently aversive tools such as prong collars, or e-collars.
